How we use cookies
We keep this short and specific. There are no advertising cookies on this site, and nothing optional is set until you tell us it can be.
In short: we use two cookies from Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. They only load if you press Accept, and you can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website saves on your device so it can recognise that device the next time it sees it. Cookies are not programs and cannot read anything else on your computer or phone.
Cookies we set only with your permission
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they find useful. This helps us improve the site. It is not essential to how the site works, so we ask first and set nothing until you agree.

These cookies are set by Google, who process the data on our behalf. We use it only to see how the site is performing. We do not use it to identify individual people, and we do not use it to target advertising.
Measurement that needs no cookies
We also use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which report page views and loading speed without storing anything on your device and without cookies. Because nothing is saved on your device, these do not need your permission, but we mention them so you have the full picture.
Remembering your choice
When you accept or reject, we save that answer in your browser so we do not have to keep asking. This is stored in your browser's own storage rather than as a cookie, it holds nothing but your answer and the date you gave it, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else.
If you reject, or later withdraw your permission, we delete the Google Analytics cookies listed above from your device and stop loading Google Analytics.
Changing your mind
Select Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. That brings the choice back so you can answer again. You can also delete cookies and block them entirely in your browser settings, though blocking all cookies will stop some websites working properly.
