We are the data controller for the information described here, which means we are the ones responsible for it and the ones you can hold to account for it. We act as a credit broker, introducing businesses to funding providers. We provide services to UK incorporated businesses only.

When you send an enquiry through this website we collect only the details you fill in:

• your first name and last name
• your email address and phone number
• the amount of funding you are looking for, where the form asks for it
• your business name and, if you pick it from the Companies House suggestions, its company number and registered office address
• anything you write in the message box
• a record that you ticked the box agreeing to us using these details, and when you ticked it

We do not ask for bank details, financial statements or any special category data through this website, and you should not send them in the message box. If we need that kind of information later, we will ask for it directly and explain why.

We also collect basic, anonymous information about how the site is used, which is covered under cookies and analytics below.

We use your details to reply to you, to arrange and hold a conversation about what you are looking for, and to keep a record of that conversation. Our legal basis is your consent, given by the tick box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we will stop using your details and delete them unless we are required to keep a record.

If you go on to instruct us, we will use your details to prepare and submit an application to funding providers. At that point our legal basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and, for the records we are obliged to keep, that it is necessary to meet our legal obligations. We will always tell you before we approach a funding provider, and no application is made without your say-so.

We will not add you to a marketing list off the back of an enquiry. If we ever want to send you something that is not about your enquiry, we will ask you separately and you can say no without it affecting anything else.

Your enquiry is seen by the Fundr team and by the service providers we use to run the site and our systems. They process your information on our instructions only, under a contract, and cannot use it for their own purposes.

Beyond that list, we share your information with a funding provider only when you have asked us to approach them, and with our professional advisers, auditors or a regulator where we are required to. We never sell your information or pass it to lead generators.

Some of the providers above store or process information outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered either by UK adequacy regulations or by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum in our contract with them, which requires them to protect your information to UK standards.

If your enquiry does not go any further, we delete your details within twelve months of our last contact with you.

If we arrange funding for you, we keep the file for six years from the end of the agreement. That is the period we may need it for, to answer a question or a complaint about the transaction and to meet our tax and record-keeping obligations. After that it is deleted.

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
• delete it, where we do not have a legal reason to keep it
• stop or limit what we are doing with it while a query is sorted out
• hand it over to you or someone else in a portable format, where we are relying on your consent
• stop using it, where we are relying on your consent

Email contact@fundr.org.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge, and we will not ask you why.

We do not make decisions about you by automated means. A person reads every enquiry.

Nothing optional is stored on your device until you agree to it, and you can change your answer at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. The full detail, including each cookie and how long it lasts, is on our cookies page.

The site is served over HTTPS, enquiry data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to it is limited to the people who need it and protected by individual accounts. No system is perfect, so if something did go wrong and it put your rights at risk, we would tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office.

Please tell us first, at contact@fundr.org.uk, and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You do not have to come to us first.

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where a change affects you materially, we will tell you directly.
